If you’re an international student, we want to recognize your academic achievements and help support you as you complete your program in the Faculty of Humanities.
Starting in September 2024, all full-time international students enrolled in an Honours program will be eligible for one of two new scholarships.
Faculty of Humanities Global Excellence Award ($25,000 over four years)
This award will be automatically given to international students entering Level I who have an academic average of more than 90%.
Students in Level I will receive $10,000.
The award can then be renewed in Level II, III and IV at $5,000/year. (Fall/Winter terms only.)
Faculty of Humanities Global Scholar Award ($18,750 over four years)
This award will be automatically given to international students entering Level I who have an academic average equal to or below 90%.
Students in Level I will receive $7,500.
The award can then be renewed in Level II, III and IV at $3,750/year. (Fall/Winter terms only.)
Essential info for both scholarships
- To renew awards beyond Level I, students must be enrolled in an Honours program with a cumulative GPA of 5.0 or higher.
- Recipients must be paying international fees and tuition. Those paying domestic tuition are not eligible for these awards.
- MELD students entering the Faculty of Humanities in 2025-2026 will be eligible for these awards.
- No application is required; these scholarships are awarded automatically.
